For hours, that dark abyss has called me back into its cold embrace. Every day it becomes more alluring. It penetrates my mind like a waking dream. Every moment is spent in anticipation of the night, when I will remain undisturbed. When that time comes, I kill the lights in my room and lock the door. I position myself by the window. I look into the darkness. At first I see nothing. But the hours pass, and my gaze does not falter. My body screams at me to turn away, but I press myself against the glass until my primal urges are quelled. Long after my eyes have played their tricks on my mind, and the terrifying shapes have faded into the obscuring haze, it is then that I see. The beginning of the end, the end of the beginning: Apeiron.
