Warfox: By spirits torn

Ongoing 435 1 0 69015

It has been more than eight hundred years since civilization broke. The Chaia'unun, the Demontouched, were defeated. In their ruin, they conjureded history's largest Wraithstorms, consuming all life in the twelve greatest cities known to man. Ever since, the Hollow King, chief of the Chaia'unun of old has waged war on what remained. The survivors, collectively known as the Anurians, have banded together in a loose alliance to hold a chokepoint where the northern end of the Great Range meets the sea, dubbed "The Last Border". It has been nine hundred years of near-constant war ever since. To the south of the Great Range, hordes of Chaia'unun still roam, threatening to spill over into the realms that rose from the ashes of the Fall.
In the central kingdom of Haval, in the shadow of one of these Lost Cities, rumors swirl around a young boy. He is said to have been touched by the Wraithstorm, or else possessed by nature spirits, enthralled into the service of the goddess of chaos. Most rumors have him pegged as a Chaia'unun, which his upcoming participation in the ritual known as the Sifting will surely reveal.
Meanwhile, tragedy upon tragedy strikes the royal family of Haval, leaving only two survivors. Thrust into a role for which she is not ready, the young queen Saelese II has to suddenly take the reins of a kingdom about to be dragged into a war of expansion.
As war breaks out among the Anurian kingdoms, the Druimar Empire swallows up country after country. In the resulting wave of refugees, Freelady Sinalas and her lady's maid Chaithia must make the best of the situation, or risk the death not only of themselves, but that of everyone around them.
